Divorce better with Alana. Your Emotional and Strategic Partner.

High Conflict Divorce and Child Custody Consultant

Where Healing Begins…

When divorce happens, it can be emotionally traumatic, but divorcing a high conflict individual presents issues that most legal professionals have difficulty navigating for their clients. The high conflict individual’s weapon of choice is verbal abuse, gaslighting, and intentional infliction of emotional pain. It is a systematic dismantling of another person’s relationships, professional reputation, emotional and physical health, and very soul. Divorce counseling helps clients regain control and prevent the divorce process from stalling out.

I provide my clients and their legal team expert advice when navigating contested divorces, child custody battles, and co-parenting with high-conflict personalities (HCPs). Through my personal experience, consults with clients, their legal teams, and my speaking engagements, I bring a unique blend of expertise to my clients. My goal is to help clients find peace of mind, safety, and empowerment to live their best life.

Alana Sharps, Certified High Conflict Divorce and Child Custody Consultant, Best Selling Author and Speaker

Hi, I am Alana

I am a Certified High Conflict Divorce and Child Custody Consultant, Best Selling Author, and Speaker. I am also the victim of my own high conflict child custody battle. I believe my purpose is to give others the help that I once needed and had no where to turn.

I wrote my best selling book, Was It My Fault, A Narcissistic Abuse Survivor Story, as a way to connect with victims and give them hope during their high conflict legal battles as they navigate a new life, post separation abuse, and often the difficulty of co-parenting with a disordered partner.

I work with law firms, public health officials, and individuals providing guidance and support to traumatized victims of emotional abuse as well as best practice processes that professionals can use to better serve their clients.

  • Divorce Consulting Services -Individuals

Preparing for a divorce? In the middle of a messy divorce? Representing yourself? Or, reeling with the after-effects of a divorce that’s been finalized with complex child custody arrangements? I am here to help YOU! Let’s build a relationship and work through each stage in detail - strategically, emotionally, logistically, and administratively.

  • Divorce Consulting Services-Law Firms

I partner with law firms on a consultant basis, as a trauma informed partner, to provide support to clients who are survivors of abuse. It can be a scary and difficult time for a survivor who may have a difficult time communicating their story and needs.

I have found that by simply making the client aware of my services, which can be billed as part of their legal fees, many attorneys find it easier to focus on the case at hand while allowing me to provide the emotional and strategic support needed to assist the client with the best outcomes for their case.

  • Speaking Engagements

I am available to speak in person and/or virtually on a number of subjects related to relationship abuse, emotional abuse, navigating a high conflict divorce, and my book, Was It My Fault.

Previous speaking engagements have included audiences from teens to legal groups looking for ways to support their clients.

Was it My Fault?

"A frank, informative work with illuminating behavioral commentary."

- Kirkus Review

Was It My Fault? is my story. In it, I share intimate details of my toxic marriage, but more than that, I share my journey out of the depths of despair and how I continue to fight for myself and my children post-separation. It’s my hope that my story will inspire someone who may be in a toxic relationship and feeling like they have no fight left in them to not give up and find a path forward.

“Alana gives insight into the true characteristics of a narcissist, a look into their playbook, what happens to their victims and how they can take back their personal power and survive. If you are currently dealing with or have ever dealt with a narcissist, know someone who is or just want to arm yourself with knowledge in the case you ever do, I highly recommend you read her book. It offers resources, guidance and most importantly hope that you too can survive.”
