This is MY Story..
Hi, I’m Alana…
In 2019, I entered a high-conflict child custody battle entirely unprepared. During this time, I felt isolated, alone with no one to help me. My lack of knowledge of the family court system meant I made costly mistakes. During the divorce process, I suffered from post-separation abuse. It was an awful time in my life.
However, post separation abuse is one of the most common tactics used by disordered individuals to regain control. They love to manipulate the narrative, protect their self-image, counter-parent, and bully their way into winning.
The emotional rollercoaster of balancing a busy work schedule, raising happy, healthy children, and trying to get through my child custody case was almost too much for me.
Looking back, I wish I had someone dedicated to me during my high conflict custody battle. Someone who would have guided me through the divorce process, been my strategic thought partner, and provided me with mental support and motivation.
Because I didn’t have that person, I decided to become that person for others. Today, I use my experiences and training to be the guide that I wished for. I educate individuals in the divorce process from family law attorneys, mental health providers to the clients themselves. I consult with individuals and law firms to ensure that other women (and men) don’t have to suffer like I did. Additionally, I have written a book about the lessons I learned, and I speak to groups around the country regarding domestic abuse in relationships, high conflict divorce, and life after divorce.

Jesse’s Rally for Change 2022
I had the honor of speaking at Jesse’s Rally for Change in remembrance of Jesse Ray Adams. Jesse was murdered by his father in 2012 shortly after his mother filed for divorce. Jesse is one of more than 800 children who have been murdered by a divorcing or separating parent in the United States since 2008.
I had the honor of speaking at the Timeless and Unbowed, A Celebration of Talented Women from the Cardinal State of North Carolina, event on the characteristics of a great leader and the importance of emotional intelligence, self awareness and self care.
